The story of the $ 40 million in gold from the old iPhone was a myth

Apple only supports recycling of old gadgets and technology.

The story that Liam robot helps iPhone to return to the manufacturer of the invested funds into production, has not been confirmed. As amended by iFixit decided to dig deeper and find out what is happening with the iPhone processing, and what role in this process at Apple.
As part of a recent presentation of the March Cupertino-based company said it developed a robot Liam. It parses the older iOS-devices with the purpose of extraction of valuable materials.
In Apple released the report on the protection of the environment really tells about the contribution of the company to recycle old gadgets and technology. However, it seems some media distorted the data, Apple lifted to the rank of the coolest fighters for the environment.
Yes, the iPhone maker a lot of effort spent on the development of environmentally sound production. On the use of renewable energy in the offices and on relevant initiatives Apple frequently write and speak in the press. And yet, under US law, Apple's, as one of the manufacturers, is obliged to maintain an effective recycling of old equipment. Moreover, not only his own, but all the old appliances recycled in principle.
To this end, the company from Cupertino, like many other technology firms, should sponsor the work centers on processing equipment. And this is not iOS-devices and Macs, and any old computers and household appliances, up to hair straighteners and DVD-players.
Back to Apple gets only a tiny percentage of iOS-devices and other products - thanks to the buy-back program and the exchange of new gadgets. (The story of the refurbished-products is an example.) The greater part of them ends up in local centers on processing equipment. According to this principle, and under such regulations work processing industry with a reference to environmental protection.
That is, if Apple sells its products in California, it is obliged under the law to financially support the California recycling centers. The amount of funding depends either on the number of sold devices in the state of (market share), or from the proceeds of the sales profits. Here the rules are set depending on the law of a particular state.
So it is unlikely that the iPhone maker helps out more than $ 40 million, looking for their smartphones as unfit. On older Apple gadgets profited differently. It turns them into refurbished-products and sell at a bargain for consumers (and yourself) price.
