Obama himself has repeatedly spoken in favor of the legalization unlock smartphones. However, the adoption of the document submitted as early as 2013 by the petition, long delayed. The petition gathered more than 100,000 signatures, passed by the Senate and House of Representatives, and finally signed by Obama, which makes it real.
From now on, unlock the U.S. smartphone becomes legal again. Ordinary users and organizations can legitimately "unlinked" your smartphone or tablet from the operator to which it was attached with the purchase. It would not require coordination with by the operator, and can not fear legal prosecution of the action.
Adoption of the law not only make life easier for American iPhone buyers outside the U.S., but also locally owned smartphones that after the expiration of the contract with the operator can safely abandon its services or use the device abroad with a SIM card.
