Apple has patented Siri for Mac

Siri voice assistant for Apple computers was one step closer to implementation.

The company received a patent for Siri for computers Mac, which describes the integration of an assistant with the system. A patent application Apple has issued only in February of this year, though rumors of Siri on OS X have been around for a couple of years.

According to the document published by the Office of Patent and Trademark Office United States, Siri in OS X - is an application that quietly runs in the background, being somewhere in the Dock or menu bar, and waiting for a click on its icon or a specific voice command. After activation assistant, he can perform a typical commands that Siri support and at the moment.
Furthermore, Siri can act kind third arm to the user. If one hand is busy with the mouse, the second keyboard, using the Siri user can further control your computer using your voice. Also in the patent describes a method of activating an assistant by the gesture performed by the computer on the trackpad. Of course, a virtual assistant will get a graphical interface and a speech synthesizer, which is separately stated in the patent.

Overall, the document does not reveal any new details of the implementation of Siri in the operating system OS X, although it is unlikely they should expect, given that in Yosemite voice assistant will almost certainly not appear. Thus, Apple has another year to prepare Siri for version 10.11 of its operating system.
