Android One: affordable smartphones for emerging markets

The last significant novelty

today Keynote Google I / O 2014 was a program of Android One. It focuses primarily on the emerging markets of Asia, Africa and South America, and suggests radically different approach to producing high quality low cost devices. It is worth noting that while the program will be tested in only one country - India, but by the end of this year Android One geographical coverage will grow significantly. But first, about the program.
Android One involves direct partnership with Google's smartphone manufacturers in the designated countries. Google engineers will help them to create a really high quality, but extremely affordable smartphone (the price of which will not exceed $ 100), but instead requires a clean installation of the operating system Android proizvoditelskih without add-ons.
Of course, the presence of some locally-critical applications would be welcome, but they should be available in Google Play store and be able to uninstall from the device. Important is the fact that Android One smartphones will receive an upgrade to newer versions of Android at the same time as the Nexus-line devices and Google Play Edition. The first example of a device new direction became the device of Micromax, which receives 4.5 "touchscreen display, support for working with two SIM-cards and slot MicroSD. Also important to have a FM-tuner. Cost of such a device will stop at the level of under $ 100. Hopefully, in the near Google's future will present a program for the flagship models. Who knows, maybe it will be Android Silver?
